Tall Tail!

Everyone exclaims over the length of Zhava's tail (as they did over Bliss' nose at that age. Or possibly any age). I just measured, and Bliss' tail is 1'3" long. Derzhava's is 1'6." Measuring them was hilarious. EDIT: Rooster's tail is 1'4.5."

Yes, she has a lot of tail! It brushes the ground at a walk, although she almost always moves at a trot. As of this morning, she is learning how to run---I wonder when she'll figure out how to steer with all of that. Hopefully, before she crashes into a tree...

Contemplating recall.

Working on her perfect collie ear, only just one of them and in the middle of her skull. This is the shot for her 12th grade yearbook.

Is that a dance step, or are you tripping over your forelegs?

A snout so sincere.

When Angel, my Afghan, was a puppy she didn't quite get the whole 'steering at a run' thing. This often resulted in glancing off things like walls and doghouses, followed by the typical yelping and crying that would invariably bring the base police to my door.

It was years later I learned that Afghans have a notoriously low pain threshold. 9_9

The markings on her face are just really, really lovely. You might have the prettiest borzoi ever :)

As a side note, remember reading some notes on dog conformation that pointed out that preferentially trotting everywhere is a strong sign of good conformation. Now that I think of it you probably already knew that given your show experience, but I still think it's pretty neat to really see how form follows function.
