Puppy and Greybird

I have raised two puppies recently and closely observed a third---which is to say, I am all too familiar with the phenomenon that, no matter how many pictures you think you're taking of the puppy, you are not, in fact, taking enough of the puppy, because OMG how on EARTH did that thing GROW so MUCH?????. This phenomenon is even more accentuated with Derzhava, whose skull has been known to change shape during the night or while I'm at work. The growth plates on her leg joints are looking more knobbly and distorted this morning, which probably means that the next thing she's going to work on is height.

See what I mean?

Earlier in the week, she was as tall as Kyn's border collie, Luck, and now she is gaining on Bliss. I'm taking bets as to when she beats his height.

These pics were taken a few days ago. I look at them and say, wow, the puppy has really grown.

Remember when she was this size? This pic was taken less than three weeks ago.

You never know what the tide will bring.

What does Nikolai have to say about this? Mostly "lie down!" a summoning whistle, and the occasional "Bad dog!"

Mr. Greybird is pleased that I finally got his atom hung. He loves that thing.

A bird of thoughts and textures.

That is one good-looking grey parrot. His plummage is beautiful, and he looks quite pleased with himself.

I'm really, really glad to see Greybird continuing to bond with you and his environment. Can't imagine a much better person to be taking care of a Grey even if you AREN'T the most experienced AG keeper (though you're getting that way fast!).

Just watching the fluffhead's behaviors would be endlessly fascinating. Something like a Grey's about the closest we can get to (non-mammalian) alien intelligence. :>

Reminds me of the old Kodak "Turn Around and they're grown..." commercials encouraging people to take lots of pictures of their kids as they grow up :)

Derzhava is growing at such an amazing rate!
