Merry, merry and all that
Hope you all are having teh lovely holiday warm and cozy action, and whatnot. Here, it is very rainy, and I am surrounded by cute animals, which is really the subject of this post. Those are both good things, and really, waking up to the sound of heavy rain with two cats and a puppy snuggled up to you is...well, does it get a whole lot better than that?
bloolark, this is me trying to provide something on your holiday wishlist, in the form of pawtraits of your friends' animals, but I hope everyone enjoys 'em. Merrily.

I wasn't able to get everyone...as I mentioned, it's raining, and the chickens, ducks and rabbit are all snuggled down in their respective spots. No horses this post either, and Delphi wouldn't hold still. I'll try and get a *complete* set of pet pics later.
Gavin and Kaya say: OK, are you done with the whole 'parrots in the tree' shot obsession YET? Because we're totally over it.
Spot the "special ornaments."

Gavin: On the other hand, that looks interesting! (Cue Jackel removing conure from tree).

Nocturne thinks that parrots in the tree are Very Interesting.

Magic and Tiger are more interested in the small tree Timothy got for our mom. How is my tree still standing again, with these three cats in the house? Divine providence, possibly?

Fierce Rogue.

Cats playing. All three of them are in this pic if you look.

Cats and shelties playing. (They don't do this when the wolves are in the house, alas.)

I may die of the overwhelming cute, here.

I am the glowing-eyed demon cat, and you will make me merry with much gifting of tuna. And your SOUL.

Magic: Long winter's nap sounds like a great idea. Tiger, what on earth would you do with a soul, anyway? Sheesh. Kittens.

Fi5h!

Pawtraits of my beloveds.

I couldn't get a decent portrait shot of Pryde. Getting any photographs from my daily walk is generally near impossible, unless, I suppose, you have a better camera and/or better sense of how to use ligting than I do; it's so dim under the canopy. Even though it's blurry, though, I think this one captures the feel of the light, the place, and my dear friend.

More shelties

The reservoir between storms.

The lush, green heart of a temperate rain forest.

I wish I had a Christmas tree just for parrot pictures. :)

Aaaah, Bengals. I find the best way to deal with Tiger is to just not think of him as a cat. He's something else; he can be more or less figured out, but domestic cat, he ain't. He is persistent, attitudinous, intelligent, and aloof. He has weird quirks, like enjoying the vaccum cleaner (!), grinding his teeth when annoyed, and demanding human food (which he is never given when he does this, but he still tries). His claws are longer, sharper and grow faster than any domestic's. He rarely wnats physical affection, but will make a point of me noticing that he is in the same room with me, and when I am sick or have been gone awhile, he nuzzles me in a businesslike way and purrs.
He's the only one I've ever had, so I can't speak for the breed entirely, but they are odd little not-cats. I know that many are more 'touchy feely' types than he is, and of course all cats are individual and quirky. He's a royal pain in the ass and I don't think I'm up to keeping two at once. (I considered this briefly, before making the decision to take Nocturne...I figured that if I was making the decision to have three cats, I needed to consider all of my options, and another bengal or a savanna is tempting). I plan on having at least one from now on, though. They are just so neat, and so very beautiful.

"He's like a teenaged boy mixed with a really weird dog."
