Happy (belated) Thanksgiving, all. I was sick as a dog yesterday (possibly food poisoning from dinner the night before, which I don't understand...nobody else got sick and it was a very very good dinner prepared by a friend we were visiting). Be that as it may, sick I was, and spent the majority of Thanksgiving nursing a ginger ale, working on my sewing project (more on that later) and sleeping.

I still had a good time, though, comparitavely. My partners are sweet and loving and take exceedingly good care of me.

I'm still kinda shaky, but decided almost at the last minute that I should be able to eat tonight, so the turkey is in the oven. Purr-yow and yum. I rather like this holiday, despite the "yay, colonialism is nice and aren't we glad the Natives didn't slaughter the pilgrims when they had a chance" slant of it. I'll sacrifice a large bird in honor of the many things I have to be thankful for and in the hope that we all survive the winter together any time. One of these days, I want to raise my own turkey. (mock-glares at [livejournal.com profile] allaine77 who graced me with a very delightful T-day phone call this morning, no I am NOT gonna eat any of the ducks.)

So, speaking of "Winter is Coming". I have attained and readily devoured A Feast for Crows, the fourth in the *huge* and dark but utterly wonderful Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin. Have y'all read these? Want some nice, addictive crack?! Then pick 'em up. The thing is getting so large as to be unwieldly and still shows no sign of wrapping up any time in the next epoch, but damn is it good. And the good news is that Martin actually had to split the thing in half in order to have a publishable novel, so next year we are guaranteed to have the next one! (we waited what, three years? for this). No spoilers, but I am breathless with worry over Arya (my favorite character, dammit) I actually almost like Cersei even though she's an evil bitch and...almost...deserves all the bad things that are surely about to happen to her, and Catelyn!!!! *Catelyn* *squees* Not nearly enough of her in this book, but what was there...OMG. And yes, there was decided femslash in this, albiet tragic and not where I would have predicted it.

So good, so good.

I have also started to watch 'Firefly'. I've seen the first three episodes. And yes, you are all right. It is an absolutely wonderful show. I am gratified.

Creative projects: Art for FAX2, Canine excange and furotic exchange, all inked, none colored. A short but torrid story for [livejournal.com profile] alexandria24 's challenge on the Fem-X list. And the sewing thing, which I would describe but I'm getting tired now and it's probably easier just to photo and post it anyway.

Gonna go baste the turkey and sew now, maybe nap for awhile. My sick-feeling is kind of like a patch storm now, I get moments of clear and happy healthiness and squalls of 'gee, the Jackel is about to keel over now." feh.

I wish you all much warmth and happiness.
