Old, old trees

So, the day after Thanksgiving, Lucy and I stayed at this place a couple of hours' drive north of here called Wellspring, which is a nifty little rustic resort type place, right next to the Hendy Woods. I will plug it now for all you local types who might want such a vacation spot at some point. It has an awesome organic garden and a fabulous swimming hole, but alas it is kid-friendly, so screamers were present. However, in the woods grow two of the last stands of Old-Growth redwood (I think the only ones in Mendocino county). I liked walking there a lot.

It was a beautiful walk, and a very well spent weekend.
