Nine Dog Afternoon
A couple of days ago,
howl_at_the_sun visited, something that we've been trying to do for a couple of months. She recently adopted Cali, Bliss' younger full sister, after having been enough impressed by my big blue floaty thing to want a little tri version of him.
kynekh_amagire and I both happen to also have tricolor puppies, and have wanted to let them all have the chance to play.
Taking the lot of them to the beach on a beautiful October afternoon was really fun. Here I am...with NINE dogs!

So I took a lot of photos. So many that I will probably make multiple posts for them, but still, you're warned!
Rhymer, Cali, Jackel, Snoot, Rooster, Rogue, Bliss, Coba, Zhava, Luck.

hahahaha, Kyn, you didn't think I could get this image... (shame I misjudged where to pose them for the best light).

It took some jockeying to get them there:

But first, we let them do a lot of this:

Enjoy deciding which dog is Rooster and which one is Cali throughout this post. Of course when you look closely, it's obvious which one is which, but they are a finely matched brace and from a distance, it can take a moment to tell!

Dogs running. It was so fascinating watching them all get to know each other, sort out their basic relationships and priorities, and become a pack. With so many dogs, there were a lot of complicated interactions going around, but by the end of the day, they were functioning as a coherent canine social grouping.

Ever since I brought Zhava home, Bliss has been obsessed with...Luck. I have no idea. Here he is, excited about Luck being about to chase a stick.

And they're off!

Rhymer andCali! Rooster! EDIT: ahahaaha I called the wrong dog! See what I mean?

pack

Shelties!

Zhava loves to dig, but she is hilariously bad at it.

Bliss and Cali, collie sibs!

Running running running

I was happy to see Zhava fully engage in play with Cali; while she's much calmer at the dog park than she was, she has preferred to observe rather than participate, even with other young pups. So much tricolored frisking!
