Timothy left a package of butter on the kitchen counter and then went into his bedroom. Zhava stole it. Bliss went into Timothy's room and acted worried.

He is, in fact, a collie! I will certainly encourage him to tell on the hound's misdeeds...

I keep a somewhat eclectic collection of dogs, and will admit to a certain degree of vanity about them, even if their beauty is very different from that of my wolfdogs. I miss Fen, Pryde and Jez terribly, but I am also enjoying my planned dog's-lifetime hiatus from their kind. It turns out that there are many things in life you can't really do well when you have three pet wolves. My current pack is trustworthy around other dogs, which makes it much easier to take them in public. I find that I enjoy taking them to dog parks and into town---consequently, I hear a lot more public feedback than I generally did with the previous incarnation.

We confuse the hell out of people. It's really funny.

A couple of days ago,

howl_at_the_sun visited, something that we've been trying to do for a couple of months. She recently adopted Cali, Bliss' younger full sister, after having been enough impressed by my big blue floaty thing to want a little tri version of him.

kynekh_amagire and I both happen to also have tricolor puppies, and have wanted to let them all have the chance to play.

Taking the lot of them to the beach on a beautiful October afternoon was really fun. Here I am...with NINE dogs!

So I took a lot of photos. So many that I will probably make multiple posts for them, but still, you're warned!

It's been a busy week in the best way. I'm now 35 (as of the 31st). I'm loved by some wonderful people, and am very happy and grateful for that.

I came across this site, which boasts a bunch of links to neat old silent films which show that the trope of the heroic, romanticized collie is a lot older than 'Lassie.' I find this stuff amusing and fascinating, especially since I really didn't know many of the details about the breed's history before I decided to obtain one.

There's also something just fundamentally trippy and weird about seeing a film over 100 years old.
