Yep, you read the time right, I really am posting this at almost 2 inna morning. I've been threatening to pull an all nighter on this story if it didn't look like I'd make the submission deadline (for the Gathering of the Gargoyles short story anthology, for those of you who don't know), and lo and behold, I did.
It's too soon to say if it's any good, but at least it's *done*, and I rather like it at this point. 4,598 words (which thrills me, as it's a 5000 word limit) of E/G relationship angst with a touch of blood and dark magic. Although...although. This will not be my most accessible story. You really have to be a gargoylesgeek aficionado to get all the refs; not only does it help to be totally familiar with the entire show, but it hinges in part upon plot points that the creator, Weisman, *would* have put into the show had it not been canceled. The dreaded double date, for all those in the gargies-know. Oh, and the thing also requires a passing knowledge of Norse myth (it is an Odin story, after all, that's the theme), but only a passing knowlege; I certainly don't possess anything more.
Which makes it a real opposite of the last story I did, Ever the Dreamer, posted several posts deep below for those who care and didn't read it before. I vehemantly believe it is accessible and potentially enjoyable to people who don't know anything about X-men. You can disagree with me on that, though.
Whee, I have a story! Anyone care to spot me a beta?
So, as long as I'm here, a bunch of truly random but cool pics of some of my assorted pack members.

I can't express how in love I am with this little horse. Spots!!!!

Night on the town...

Chris riding his titanium cruiser in the house!

Jackel reluctantly toying with the thought of wearing something that isn't grungy t-shirts and jeans.

Baby Josephine!!!! I need to take more pics of Napoleon and Josephine, khaki campbell ducklings, because they are such sweet little ducks...although Napoleon is a bit of a spaz.

And that's all. I think I ought to sleep now. I do, after all, need to work tomorrow...
