Ok, so I leave on a Jet plane for Ohio tomorrow! Morphicon, here I come! I am excited!

So I will have a dealer's table at this event. My question to you artists out there is, have you ever flown with prisma pens? Do they survive the flight or will the pressure changes mess them up?

I would like to have them, to do conbadges and such, but not at the risk of losing 'em in transit. They are several hundred dollars' worth of pens. :P

Never had a problem with Prismas and planes.

However, through long experience and trial and error, I'd strongly suggest that you bring watercolors and/or colored pencils instead. They take up MUCH less room than a ton of markers, don't dry out in the middle of a picture, and are less likely to vanish due to sticky fingers. I never bring my markers to cons any more. I love using them at home where I can spread them out to work, but the watercolors are far more portable, and the colored pencils are much tougher.

I bring my markers in my carry-on. Kacey Miyagami showed me how she uses a camera bag to carry them in. There shouldn't be a problem with pressure changes since the markers don't carry the ink in a sealed 'well' but rather in a sort of spongy absorbant material where the pressure will be equal within and without at all times. I keep my markers behind the table while I draw and take them back to my room at the end of each day.

Check with airline/TSA?

I wonder if a bag full of markers is affected by the "3 oz. or smaller container" limitation for "Non-flammable liquid, gel, or aerosol paint" brought in a carry-on???

Just got a mental image of racks of overpriced prismas in the airport shops, while in the checkpoints nearby prismas found on persons are confiscated...

I'd like to see someone try to light a marker on fire.

That would be kind of cool, actually.

I always take my markers as a carry on. Jolyn and Thornwolf have both told me that they've had problems with them exploding in the cabin below because of the pressure changes.

I'm going to try to make it out this weekend, but I really don't think it's going to happen. :(
