Back from cons (with pictures!)...

Dude, two cons in two weekends. Am I a party jackal or what?
Morphicon was awesome. It was small and fun, I met a lot of excellent people I wouldn't otherwise have met because I don't tend to leave the West Coast much. It was my first experience having a dealer's room table, and that was very good as well. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep for all the right, fun con reasons, and I even managed to get myself tied up and photographed. (!) (Yeah, I'm a tease. I'll share some of those when I get them, I don't have them yet). Thank you, Morphicon furs!!
So THIS weekend, I went to...another con. This would be BayCon, the local general scifi con that I've been going to for at least...I want to say, 13, 14 years straight? I almost didn't because of Morphicon, but decided at the last minute to show up Sunday. Baycon has gotten...a lot smaller and less interesting this year, at least from my POV, but it was still fun. And the new hotel was...bizarre. Though honestly I enjoyed the opportunity to hang out with, in no particular order,
leora,
madmanatw,
baxil,
darch and
joreth. Particularly pleased about seeing the latter albiet briefly, since she was here from Florida.
Some pictures were taken, and lo, they are behind the cut.
We'll start this with a cute cat picture. To make things confusing, this isn't Magic. This is Lao Tzu,
madmanatw and
corpsefairy's cat. In photos they may look similar, but in actuality Tzu is at least 2 1/2 of Magic...who is not, mind you, a small kitty!

This is me at my table at Morphicon. It's a crappy picture and I look zombie-esque, but that's what I get for getting in to bed at *5 am* the night bef...wait, no *that morning*. :P

babsbunny in her Lily costume, being really cute and impressing me with her improv skills:

And another critter shot. I was rather astounded to see that one of the dealers had...a pet baby alligator. 0_0 Now, I have serious concerns about the long-term implications of keeping this animal as a pet (they were planning to keep her in an appartment, even as an adult 'gator) but...well, I got to hold and pet a baby alligator, and she was just stunning. I hope she has a good adulthood.

Now we skip to Baycon!
Here's
madmanatw lookin' just too darn pretty in his new armor. Prettier than it is comfortable to have lunch in, but hey! I got photos!

This one shows the extent of the armor better. I was going to say something about how I'm glad I'm not the one wearing it, but then I recalled that I wear both fursuits and Victorian garb.

And here's
joreth, looking completely gorgeous in the Fire Elf costume she made for Baycon. And boy, is it nifty. All that from liquid latex!!

And lastly, because yes, I am a geek. My only real purchase from either dealers' room was this delightful plush Anubis jackal! He brings my plush Anubis collection up to three. (And my jackal collection to a paltry four...no one makes plush jackals! Unfair!) At any rate, here he is with Malawi, my African Wild Dog plushie (wearing a necklace gleaned from a party at Morphicon).

The cons were great. Wish other aspects of my life were working so well but...well...keeping on trying.
For those of you who missed it (I chose a really bad time to post this) I still have a sketch meme going in both the G-rated and Adults-locked version of this journal.
I think I need sleep now.
