Ok, so Gavin and Lady are sitting on my lap. Lady (the tiel) is begging for skritches, of course, and has her head turned upsie down resting on my leg so that I can get at her jaw in an expression of cockatiel happy bliss trance. Gavin (conure) watches for a moment and then makes direct eye contact so he can look *really sad* at me and turns his head to imitate Lady's posture (which is not how he usually likes his skritchin'.) So of course I arrange my hand so I can pet both birds.
Then Magic the cat walks up and starts jaw-rubbing my foot and purring. d'awwwwwww.

Comfort, like aimless love, almost always wins.
