Days 4-5, at Papoose Lake on the other side of Goodale Pass, and going over Silver Pass. (and from there, downhill and to the car. The cool tree pics on photos 2 are from that last day. Wouldn't it have been nice if I'd done these in chronological order?! :P) The trip was: from trailhead to the Graveyard Lakes, over Goodale Pass, over Silver Pass, back down to the trailhead. 5 day trip.
Refuge at the lake:

Very Tired Jackel goes "rrrrrrrrrr. Braaaaaaaains".

Friendly, lovely place. Oh boy was I happy to be here after that pass...

Those little dogs were not interested in moving. At all. Aren't they just cute, snuggled in Chris' sleeping bag?

We are: the scruffy pair!

Date: 2007-09-14 01:22 am (UTC)Very different trail in early July of a decent snow year. (July! And even at that, I was behind the pack. Most thru-hikers tackle the High Sierra in the mid-June range, when you're pretty much walking on white the whole way. It's that or hit bad weather in Washington.)
