Celtic festival and eggs, redux
Sep. 25th, 2005 02:53 pmThe Celtic festival was wonderful. I didn't end up going to either of the weekend days, but I went to all three evening concerts. Like all Sebastopol Celtic festivals before it, it was amazing. Highlights included Matin Hayes, who is a fiddler of mastry I cannot describe. He has some wonderful recordings out, which I reccomend unhesitatingly, but nothing comes close to witnessing what he can do with a fiddle live. If you EVER have a chance to see this guy? Do it. His facility seems superhuman.
Liz Carrol and Cherish the Ladies were also there, and excellent. I am completely enthralled with the lead singer of Dervish, my favorite band of the moment, because she has an incredible voice and a passionate stage presence. Celtic festival: exhausting and deleriously wonderful.
I am almost done with Gaiman's latest, Anansi Boys. It is Good...good in that special and unique way that only Gaiman is good. He does to words what Martin Hayes does with sound. It sends me.
So these cute silly lil egg things hatched. And I got me some more. Ain't they cute? I like the sharky one.
