Thus far, I've had a wonderful Solstice, hope it's the same for all of you. Sunday night, I got to go to a really wonderful ritual at the Sebastopol community center, officiated by Starhawk...who's local, so I am lucky. She was both a sweet, unassuming and approachable lady, and a presence and power that one would expect given that she's, well, Starhawk. I was happy. Today was great, too; a lot of wonderful home time with the Chris, much drawing and laying about. It is raining HARD here, like lots. Big big big storm. Poor
lythir had to turn around a couple times to get around flooded roads getting to work today, which made me very very sad (even more so because I would have liked to have lain about the house with her too, grump), but gives you an idea about what the weather is doing. Thankfully, she is home safe now. I cooked salmon, wild rice, green beans and chocolate cake.
Chris and I are planning to go snowshoeing/backpacking/mountaneering in the Trinity Alps next week. *WOOHOO*, and yes, we are, actually, crazy. ;) A huge box of snow gear is expected to arrive on our doorstep on Friday. *squee*. I will give details as it approaches.
More big news: I finally bit the bullet and bought a new camera. *madly gleeful yipyipyipyipyipyipping*. It is a teeny weeny little Sony number, 7.2 megapixels, and it takes reeeeeallly nice pics. Which are reduced in size before I post them here, of course, but...damn! Spiffy!!! To demonstrate, here are some photos. The first set are of the dogs at the beach taken a couple of weeks ago, on a sunny day, and the last to be taken with the old camera before it gave up its ghost. The other ones are with the *shiny new camera*!!!! (squeeeee).
( These are with the old camera. Don't I have pretty dogs? )
( New camera! Tiger and Fishies!!!!! )
