Bird Geeks...
Jul. 9th, 2006 07:13 amSuch fun! Friday night,
illucian,
kynekh_amagire and Eclipse (Eclipse, do you have an LJ???), who are really fun to hang out with and see movies with, went to see 'Pirates of the Caribbean.' Yo ho ho!
It was very good and inducing of 'squees' in numerous places. The special effects must be seen to be believed, especially if you are a cephalopod-phile like myself, it was a terrific romp with plenty of eye candy, and for a movie that isn't exactly trying to be high literature, it had a lot of heart.
(waits for foam bricks to be thrown). Go on, go see it, you will not regret. If, like me, you only saw the first one once in the theater, you may want to go rewatch it before seeing #2 to get the plot, such as it is, fresh in your head.
Bird geekery: Illucian and Kyn both have green cheeked conures as well, and of course it was necessary to get them together for a photo shoot of excessive cuteness. Comparing their personalities was very neat...Kyn's Firefly (recently tested as boy) is a big, bold fellow who does adorable things like playing fetch with his person. Illucian's Mori (also a boy) is a sweet, cuddly little thing who wants to nest in his person's hair more than anything else. (awwww). Gavin didn't seem to know quite what to think of all this conurosity, but he was very excited and acted like he wanted to investigate Firefly...bad idea since 'fly seemed to think Gavin looked like a great chew toy. ;) But my small green squeaker was very well behaved, and a good time was had by all.
