Heeey, those commissions are getting closer and closer to done! Finish inking the last 2 and then I will color the lot.

Here's the commission for the awesome Arch'Teryx! Here he is doing one of the things a teryx loves the most, flying. I am pleased with his little teryx feets. :)

and this is kind of a cool little sketch I did over lunch yesterday, after [livejournal.com profile] madmanatw mentioned wondering about a feather-winged dragon. I may do more with the idea because I think it's kind of cool and this pic didn't quite do what I was wanting, although I rather like it anyway. Nifty because of all the things I've seen that have actually existed on this planet, an archaeopteryx feels the most like a dragon to me.

Happy 4th, everyone. Enjoy making things explode if you're into that kinda thing. ;)

So, I saw the new Transformers movie last night. No spoilers...not that you could really spoil this film...but here's a quick rundown:

1. It wasn't actually nearly as bad as I was expecting. Mind you this dosen't mean it was *good*, but if this was your childhood fandom (squeeeeeeee!) there are parts of it to die for. Mostly the robots were just beautiful, and I'll have to admit here that my heart did the little flippy-awe thing when Prime showed up in all his shiny gorgeousness. What? He was my first fictional-character-crush! I was like *ten* or something for heaven's sake. The Decepticons were pretty scary, especially at the beginning, they did a great job with Prime (purrrrr), and of course I want a Bumblebee. Always did.

2. If you weren't a rabid fan as a child and/or still are (heh), don't even bother. This action fluff has some sweet bits, but there's no real emotional pull unless this scenerio and/or characters mean something to you already. It's silly...it was always silly, but in this version it's even more so. There's not nearly enough character development with the Autobots to make you care if you don't already and absolutely none with the Decepticons. (heh, and the decepticon snark was one of the things that made the cartoon so very fun...)

3. The whole human plotline was obnoxious at best and really deeply annoying at worst. The whole "yay, go US military! Being in Iraq is so cool!" thread annoyed the hell out of me more than I can possibly say, but my own extremely liberal political leanings aside, most everyone was a walking stereotype. Ok, so the Australian girl was very hot, but beyond that...can the Decepticons please kill some of these people? Please?

fun. But if you want the real TFs experience in all of its absurd glory, go see the 80's film.

So yay, transformers fangirl-geekery. Have a Lime Soap and Squid Ink to go with that! 'Til all are one, guys. ;D

...in which we meet that Humboldt Squid.

And, in a fit of insanity, yes, I appear to almost have my very own webcomic, sketchy and scratchy and odd as it is. They will apparently need another week or so to process my password, but yeah, the thing is in the works. I will let you all know when it's up, of course.

Never let it be said that Jackel isn't willing to take her comeuppance when she's being obnoxious.

I have a whole pile of Lime Soap and Squid Ink I have yet to scan and upload, oh boy. This is the last for today, though.

...Canis loves her some science!!!! This was at least partially inspired by [livejournal.com profile] archteryx's neat research, which involves making things glow...but not jackals, alas.
