Neat

I saw a bald eagle at the Russian River yesterday. It was the third I've ever seen, and the only one so close to home. She was a magnificent (and HUGE) bird and I was really happy to get to see her...for a long time, too. I noticed her when she was flying to the tree she was roosting in, and I spent a while just watching. She wasn't doing much in particular, just sitting there, but still...eagle! I wish I had a camera with a zoom for taking pics at that distance. Also, must bring binoculars to river next time. Or get a small pair that fits in my saddle bag...better yet.

Also, quite unrelated but still cute, there is a parrot preening the inside of my elbow.
