...Because I'm bored. This is from
troubleagain. It comes with various tiring language about 'you must tag 8 people blah' but y'all know I am a good place to send such things to die. Do this only if you want to.
Lots of pillows or just one?
Usually just the one, but I sleep with a plush octopus 99% of the time. I don't sleep well without her at all.
What kind of books do you read?
A lot of sci-fi and fantasy, natural history stuff and graphic novels. I'm re-reading a lot of my philosophy books now.
What are your most awesome skills?
Making roadkill into food. Art. I can play a fiddle adequately, and I am proud of the advances I've made on actually calling myself able to dance in a competent way. (Ballroom and swing; I've been in lessons almost a year now).
What's your occupation?
Jackal of all trades. I even practice a little law here and there.
What's really creepy?
Republicans. Libertarians creep me sometimes, too. Fundamentalist anything. shudder
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
I have so many. Making a comic book. Training the dogs is obsessy at the moment, which is good, because I have a lot of that which needs doing. I think I've devised a way to teach them to put their toys away. No, really. If I can pull this off, it will be the most awesome dog trick ever.
What flavor ice cream would you choose right now?
OMG, there is this new Ben and Jerry's flavor that is chocolate and vanilla ice cream + chocolate covered macadamia nuts. NOM doesn't even approach it.
What websites do you always visit when you go online?
Gmail, this one, FA
What was the last thing you bought?
/hangs head/ a fast food hamburger. Sniff. I am a BAD DOG, and I know it, and I'm sorry. More excitingly, the next thing I plan to buy is a new 2-person backpacking tent, which is a very big deal. One of those things I will probably have for the next decade+ and will become a very meaningful object. It's probably for the best that Kestrel took his old tent with him (which was wanting replacement anyway). I don't need any more painful reminders of what I've lost than I already have. But WOOO, new tent soon!
What was the cutest thing you've seen today?
Immediately upon waking up, Rogue, Magic and Coba in the bed in a line of fluff snuggled up against my body. Coba's pointy little housefox face very close to mine, earnestly curious as to whether I was up yet and willing to provide pettings. Alternately, Trucker slowly moving out of her sleeping place behind the toilet to purr rustily at me as soon as I came into the bathroom this morning...pathetic and sad as everything is about Trucker, but still really sweet. I am looking forward to the poor thing not being stuck quarantined in the bathroom any more.
Do you get cravings? If so, what do you crave?
Well, now I want that ice cream...but I have it at home, so yay! Chocolate. Skritches from folk who ain't giving 'em, and some, thankfully, who are.
What do you do to change your mood?
Walk in the woods. Ride a bike really hard for a long time.
What is your zodiac sign?
sigh. Gemini as a sun sign. I knew what I was rising once but I forgot, and I do not have a chart. I also really don't go in for astrology; it makes me cranky, and I find tarot cards infinitely more useful. But you can tell I was raised hippie.
Do you want to learn another language?
I really wish I had learned Spanish in the years I was taught it, but I have shameful fail in that area. If I was surrounded by people speaking another language and could practice constantly, I think I could do it, but without that it's kind of pointless. Language acquisition is apparently not my thing. But I wish.
Five things you can't live without.
I could be snarky and answer food, water, oxygen, protection from the elements and sunlight, but other than those...a good dog and/or horse. Art supplies. Regular exposure to wilderness. A safe, comfortable home where I can have quality solitude. At lest occasional affection, though that one is hard to admit.
What's something you'd like to say to someone right now?
I don't know if I'm too proud or too scared to ask for a scratch on the head now and again, or if I just know better. You seem happy, and I am very pleased about that.
What are you looking forward to?
Backpacking in the Trinity Alps next week, and in Ansel Adams wilderness at the end of the month! Also, Disneyfication thereafter.
