1. I do not need to keep the Osbick Bird. Even though he is quite sweet, surprisingly quiet, becoming tamer rather touchingly quickly and doesn't actually add that much more trouble or work to the care of my original two parrots. I've made space for his enormous new cage in a way that I think will eventually actually minimize living room disorganization, at least when I've gotten my new tool box. That actually may need to happen this month; the tools are all over the place in a way I hate, I want to buy a power sander, and before I do that I need to have a place to put it. Also in his favor, Osbick gives the best hat feathers.

2. I do not need a canary and am not going to obtain one, despite the fact that I love them and, now that the Osbick Mahal has been placed, I have a cage available that would be perfect for one. I will say that the little bright yellow guy singing his heart out at the feed store this morning completely charmed me. I don't think I've ever actually listened to a canary sing; what a beautiful sound (even though redwing blackbird song is still prettier).

3. Speaking of the feed store, the fellow who was dispatched to fetch and load my chicken feed this morning told me that I have a wonderful sense of style. I think that this is probably the first time I have ever been given such a compliment, certainly by a stranger, certainly by the feed store dude, and I'm still a little...wtf-ish (don't worry, I received it graciously). About the only thing I have to say about my sense of style is that it's relatively diverse. For the record, I am wearing jeans, a black t-shirt, a long sweatery jackety thing, a big labroadorite pendant and my hat. Oh, the hat has Gavin's and Osbick's feathers on it (plus a few small plumes from an anonymous ostritch). That must be it. Parrots=style.

GREAT quote. However, I'm really going to miss Oz. :-(

Yeah, I will too. If I actually do end up finding another home for him. He's a very sweet guy. It isn't completely out of the question that he might stay.

Oh, I guess I misunderstood this:
now that the Osbick Mahal has been placed,

So he hasn't been placed in a forever home; you meant placed his cage better, right? Okay, good!

sorry, guess it wasn't clear. I should have been, 'placed in such a way that it isn't a horrible eyesore and works harmoniously with the rest of my living room...other than the bit which is a horrid mess because I need a new toolbox.' Ozbeast seems happier now that he has a cage in which he doesn't bop his tail on the bars! IRNs are rather vain about their loooooooooong tails, and don't enjoy the sensation of accidentally brushing them on things.
