I often gaze at bodies of water and contemplate words and images I could use to describe the qualities I see and feel. You've done a wonderful job of that here.
Your last verse is very telling of your wisdom, to see not only what is there, but what is not. In life drawing, we are taught to create form by using the negative as well as the positive space. This is so applicable to all observation!
