Point Reyes National Seashore is a place of astonishing beauty. It isn't all that far from me,
kynekh_amagire had never been there, and I have been a bit low about the emotions all week, so we made the journey to the point.
It was wonderful. Here, I'll post the vulture shot first, in honor of Kyn. I think that this is my best vulture capture to date!

Happy collies

My cute, funny-looking dog

Luck, isn't all that sand in your mouth a little uncomfortable?

awwwww. I think that this captured both of their personalities.

Shelt of the surf.

Fluff in motion?

The amazing colors of the shore

Coba is so in love with Luck. I have no idea how to tell him that the object of his affections is very neutered and has no idea what he's talking about. Funny as hell, though. Polite little housefox courtship behavior. We laugh.

He is very handsome, though.

Chaos is getting the idea that there's...something...some dogs do with sticks. It involves eye-snout coordination, though, and that's tricky.

And now, adorable fluffy little shorebirds. I haven't cracked a field guide yet, but if any of you bird people care to make a stab at the ID, go for it!

I'm guessing some sort of plover.

The silver/white one was in a flock with the barred ones. Same species?

I am really pleased with this gull sequence. I learned more about what the camera will and won't do on the first one; the light quality was just utterly gorgeous, but the camera couldn't quite deal with it...too bright, I think, or too close an angle with the sun. Still.

Collies romping in the sunset

Aw, playbow!

My lovely, silly pup

Paw de deux

This is where we were. Really, this place is mind-bendingly, gloriously beautiful.

Hawk at dusk.

Date: 2009-10-26 10:35 pm (UTC)What a glorious day. The photos, gorgeous as they (really, truly) are, still scarcely do it justice.
