So
kynekh_amagire has this really really adorable 10 week old rough collie puppy, who we picked up at the airport two weeks ago. You may have seen him at Furcon!
Little Rooster has grown since. Yesterday we packed _all_ of our collective collies in my truck...there are now five of them, a matched set of each color in the collie palette save for white and sable merle...and took them to the beach. It was a happy day.
Presenting Rooster! He's small and tender and adorable, and I get to love on him and not have to worry about actually raising him at all. So much awwww-someness. He's actually cuter in person. Uh, in puppy.

We walked to the reservoir first. The collies are all packing together nicely, although my young males got a little nervous and overcompensating (Coba) and/or confusedly shirty (Bliss) in the presence of a young puppy and the resultant shift in pack dynamic. Teenagers growing up.

These two are going to be a _heck_ of a brace of Noble Rough Collies when the youngster is grown. Now they're adorable.

Bliss playing with Rooster. He came on a bit strong at first, but learned to tone down the play to match the puppy. That's an important skill. Also really cute.

awwwwww. Between them, an approximate mile of snout.

On the way to the beach, some pretty feral landscaping.

Blue collie, waves

Luck and Rooster. Bounce!!

Running

Luck and Bliss. Luck likes to chase sticks, all of mine like to chase dogs chasing sticks (come on guys, can ONE of you actually go for a stick or toy? Please?) and Bliss, being a snotty teenager, likes to chew sticks only if someone else has them first. Luck is a submissive type and gave up his driftwood eventually, after which, of course, Bliss lost interest.

Same thing happened with Bliss and Rooster...

But Bliss didn't win this time.

Did I mention that Rooster is an evil genius?

There are collies.

Rogue supervises. My lovely little girl is getting a little stiff around the hips, but still likes the beach.

five collies one frame

Coba and Bliss playing.

Puppeh trying to get in on the action.

Oh, the five minutes when a collie child is smaller than a grown housefox...

Note Coba's coat in this pic.

Noble Collie.

Less noble view.

All legs and snout

Pretty legs and snout, though.

Back at the beginning of colliehood

Selection of coll

Rogue contemplates a gull. She used to chase birds obsessively when she was younger, but now she's learned that a sprint hurts her joints a bit, and she can never catch them. She still likes to stare, though.
