Views from a height
Oct. 3rd, 2010 11:41 amMarie Lake was one of the most lovely I've seen.

View from the pass (on the trail)

Bliss would, whenever possible, rest near my backpack, once with his head through the shoulder strap.

We all climbed Senger Peak (having made camp at the lake).

The lakes on the other side of the mountain.

...yeah, so ok, the dog has 'tude.

The cloud shadows did such neat things on the rock and water.

What grows on the heights.

Coming down, an Autumn rainbow

Dog tired.

Date: 2010-10-03 07:14 pm (UTC)Your dogs are so cool: I particularly like the shot of Bliss in his Lassie pose, with you leaning on him (you--wearing a -CATS- t-shirt! How rude!). Also the shot of the dogs all-crashed out in the same position.

Date: 2010-10-04 04:39 am (UTC)heh, I took the 'Cats' t-shirt for its irony. ;) (well, and it's old and I can destroy it by walking over a mountain...) I'm glad you like my blue boys---they are really fabulous dogs and I'm lucky to have them. Watching Bliss learn about the woods was really cool, and it really bonds us to each other. I love packing with dogs for that.
It's sad that Jez and Rogue can't go anymore; Jez wasn't in to it, but this was the first trip I haven't taken Rogue, and she saw the packs come out and was happy, then upset when I didn't take her. She's ok now...dogs are forgiving...but there's no way she could have done it, poor girl.
Your dogs are pretty darn cool, too.

Date: 2010-10-04 06:10 am (UTC)I can sympathize with the sadness of having to leave the old dogs behind...that was one of the hardest parts of Frieda's decline because walks -were- her life. I usually just did a shorter walk/hike with her, then a longer one later for my own health.
Email me (my username at gmail dot com) or message me with a good mailing address for you: I have a book you might like. It's a Japanese Sheltie care book: the info is in Japanese, but it's all standard stuff anyway. The real cuteness are all the little cartoon sheltie illos in it.

Date: 2010-10-03 11:52 pm (UTC)LOVE the Coba+Autumn shots. LOVE.
Also, and sorry to bug (haha) again, but did you get my query about the Spider ID?

Date: 2010-10-04 03:58 am (UTC)I got your spider question just as I was getting ready to leave, sorry! Actually, Kyn is the spider guru; I'm just learning myself. I will pass on the link to her, though, and hopefully she can help you with the genus of that pretty little thing! Will you reply to this with the link to your pic?
I know she uses bugguide a lot to ID the spidders, but I haven't learned the site enough to use it well.
