Since I'm wide awake at 2-am thanks to barking dogs (growls ominously at the bark collared terrier who is nuzzling my feet affectionately in an attempt to return to my graces which is mostly working) I'll throw out this question to the Gargies people out there. Has Weisman made any indicia about what happens to gargoyles in the event of a total solar eclipse? I couldn't find it, but then I find the Ask Greg archives cumbersome at times, and someone HAS to have asked him this.

I have my own ideas that I'll probably use either way, but I'm curious.

And yay, the missing corner of my Eye of Oden anthology fic snapped into place just before I went to bed! I've known what the basic premise and plot for a long time, but now all I have to do is write it. After I do another bit of gargs-related writing. Also, should I do a brief love scene based on 'Ever the Dreamer', do you think? And hmm, I better figure out when the deadline to submit is, too...whee, the Gathering is coming up and I'm *actually going* this year!!!!! Well, yes, in July, but it's still coming up. ;)

Yip.

Who would the pairing be? Charles and Eric? Charles and Callisto? Or are you going to go all kinky on me and do a threesome? ;)

Yay more Gargs goodness is always good to hear. Demona is getting lonely out there in that head of yours. Leo and Una should accompany her. ;)

What's with all this talk about threesomes now? I don't know. :P

Greg has been generally hazy on answering the elipse question, but his best one is . I guess it means he's leaning towards *no* effect, but not ruling out the possibility.

Glad to hear somebody's moving forward on an Odin story - I've stalled miserably. Maybe when I get a break next week I'll press on.

And submissions are due May 1. ;)

Note to self, don't HTML immediately after waking up...

oh, it would be a threesome, because even if the specific scene was just Eric/Callisto, Charles would be very much a presence in their heads and hearts. But he'd probably be there physically and telepathically as well. (I just can't seem to get all excited about doing a love scene with Charles, though. Eric, oooooh yeah, but Charles? Well, I'll just have to work on that.)

And I am heading back into Gargs realms, though the odin story will focus primarily on Elisa. I have not even remotely forgotten about Demona and Leo, though, and yeah, a lonely Demona in my head is a baaaaaaaaad idea. ;D

I appreciate the info, and the HTML!
And letting me know the deadline. It is now on my calendar in red letters. I'd best start working on that story NOW, hadn't I? Ah, well, my energy was turning away from X-men and back to gargs anyway.

Thanks!

I could have sworn one of the Gargoyle episodes addressed the eclipse issue. Regardless, considering that in all the shows they come alive when dark hits them I would assume so. The question this raises is if it's only contingent on light, what happens if you stored them in a basement? Would they be alive all the time?

I would say nothing happens, or it would have been mentioned. Gargoyles live anywhere from 150 to 200 years, so they are bound to experience eclipses over the course of each of thier lives. It's not light or no light that affects them, but wether it is day or night. Greg Weisman says they are tied to the natural pulls of the earth and sun cycles (it's in Ask Greg somewhere) so a garg in a basement turns to stone at day break, give or take a few seconds, just like a garg under a solar lamp will still wake up when the sun sets.
