So, I've updated far too often today, but...
I just got out of the shower, having painted the loft, and noticed something odd on the floor. I had my suspitions, which were confirmed upon picking up the Questionable Object (with a bit of tissue). It was part of a mouse.
Specifically, the face, consisting of nose, whiskers, and one perfect black sphere of eyeball that still managed to register surprise. It was kinda cute, actually, as much as part of anything so clearly living-impaired can be cute.
Pouncival/Tiger (we call him both) is far too practical a cat to bother with trophies, I guess. I don't think Magic would have bothered to eat the whole thing. Y'know what they say, you can take the tiger out of the jungle, but. Hmm, I *thought* I heard the cats doing something exciting last night.
So I am un-thrilled but not particularly surprised that we have mice (it's always plural, you never have 'a' mouse), but nice to know that the cats are doing their jobs.
