bragging about my cycling acumen

summer_jackel...I just rode 100 miles on the tandem, in 4 hours, 45 minutes. Woah, fast!!!! We were hoping to do it in 5 hours, I thought 5 1/2 was more realistic.
This was at the Wine Country Century, the first year I've done it...last year we tried, but it rained so hard we canned it quickly. Today was perfect...cold fog in the morning that burned off into a gorgeous cool spring day as we rode through all the lovely rolling hills, oak groves, wildflowers, etc. I really live in one of the prettiest bits of CA.
There were literally thousands of people in this event, and we passed...all of them. On a single bike, I'd probably be able to do it slowly, but one of the many advantages of the tandem...when captained by Chris anyhow...is that it is fast! there were only two others...a single bike and another tandem...who could keep up with us at all. woohoo! I'm having high hopes for the August race.
But...I am SO tired right now. took a long bath and walked the dogs...and now I'm really crashed and dizzy and a little queasy. must...pass...out...now.
