summer_jackelThe news just came that my entry, 'Burn Down', got accepted for the Gathering Phoenix Gate Anthology. Which we now know will not be wanting for Demona angst. ;) I'm pleased; I really wasn't sure that it would make the cut, and being edited by Christine Morgan is certain to be a high honor.
So at least a little bit of me, in the form of the story, will make it to the Gathering, even if I can't. I wish so badly that I could go. Ah, well, next year my attendance is all but certain, especially if it's on the West Coast. I've wanted to go to a Gathering since the first one. But it won't be 04.
We can only hope that I won't be spending that month studying for the bar again. Am I sweating bullets about that yet? You betcha. I will get the news near the end of May, about a week before my birthday and BayCon, which events will be either giddily happy or downright depressing, depending on whether I earned the grace of the Bar last February.
At least subconsciously, I must be assuming that I passed, though, since I made August plans to entertain an out of town friend without even thinking of how it would effect bar prep plans. Hope my subconscious is right. I can't imagine going through that again right now.
