Being all arty and stuff
Mar. 8th, 2007 07:59 amSome arts! Watercolor of of an octopus I did for a dear friend's birthday, and a shot of my messy drafting table.
I love, love, love me cephalopods. Squids used to be my favorite, but now I think Octopodes are leading by a tentacle. I've drawn so many of them over the last couple months, with more on the way. Now that I up and grudgingly bought a watercolor pad (I hate the texture of watercolor paper and my pens hate it too, but I have to admit that it DOES work well with watercolor...this painting is on bristol) I have another okkie in the works.

Aaaand, my workspace. Note big acrylic painting in process of two vixens, with the underpainting on the white one looking really crappy, sketched poster for Morphicon, a nude of Danielle and the first couple messy pages of the Danielle/Shard comic I'm working on. Also note that it is situated nicely by the fire. Hey, I don't chop all that wood for nothing.

By the by, I am SO spring fevered right now. I can hardly sit still. Being completely in love (with more than one person, yay polyamory) makes it all that much more fun, too. I need to go roll around in the dirt, hug trees and splash around delightedly in the ocean for a few hours. Oh, wait. Well, I can always do it some more.
After work, which is where I need to go now.

Date: 2007-03-10 02:15 pm (UTC)Speaking about cephalopods, have you ever been introduced to cuttlefish? They're waaaay too smart for a sea-critter, waaay too social, and too good at communicating.

I looooove little cuttles. So sweet and smart! And yes, cephs in general are just...unsettlingly smart. They behave and communicate in ways that we tend to think are exclusive to mammals. ;D
