I miss my Blake's 7. Dear, dear doomed, beautiful Avon. Does anyone else here have any idea what I'm talking about? I wonder if I could get it on DVD? I probably could...!

As for the kakapo, well, even if they were available as pets, the desire to share my life with one would probably be foolhardy. (Parrots, yes, count as life partners. Treat the aquisition of one as such). Bad enough that I have to regularly quash my completely inappropriate desire for a B&G macaw and/or an African Grey. No, my next parrot (and not for a long time) will be another pionus. I miss Sage, the pionus I rescued but who lived only 2 months with me, quite badly.

I'm just pleased that there are still some on the planet to theoretically meet! (Wikipedia says that we're up to 86 of 'em...way better than, what, around a dozen there were in the 80s?!)

I do remember BLAKE'S 7, but have of late become more enamored of SAPPHIRE & STEEL, which is somewhat more aware that it's on a BBC budget, and is so utterly cracktaculackin' that I have to enjoy it. I dream of reviving it a la DOCTOR WHO.
