Love is soft and purry
Jun. 27th, 2004 05:25 pmMy kitten is home. :) Happy isn't even the word for me.
He is precious and genteel and animate and pouncy and utterly fearless. His purr is quiet and determined, his many pounces full of joy. A friendlier, more well socialized baby I have yet to see...tres HUGE cudos to mooncatX for her breeding and raising of the young gentleman.
So I got to the San Francisco airport an hour before he did. The flight was actually early...very cool. They unloaded the kitty after all the people and baggage (I think cats should be released first, but hey.) I signed some papers and took him home.
After the ordeal of a 10 hour flight, he was amazingly calm. I was expecting him to be terrified and screaming, but he wasn't at all...a little wary at first, but he chowed the tuna I gave him and set out to playing *madly* for several hours. Better way to relieve the stress than being all scared, huh? This is one well-adjusted cat. Today, he is very nonchalant and relaxed.
and *cute*! Spotty baby Bengal! I have taken many pictures; hopefully some will turn out.
Many and public thanks to Mooncat, kitty mama par exellance. I adore my baby.
Oh, and names: I am vacillating between Pouncival and Tempo. Thoughts?

This is the problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but we know nothing about each other. I'm going to rectify it. I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me -- something which should be obvious, but about which you have no idea.
Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.

Date: 2004-06-27 05:26 pm (UTC)baby cat!
Date: 2004-06-27 09:45 pm (UTC)He'll crawl up you while you are on the computer and lounge on your breast and shoulder, basically he'll be resting his for paws on your shoulder while the rest of him rests across your chest. He'll snooze and purr there while you play at the computer, very calm.
I can't wait till you discover his many many cute mannerisms *^_^*
He chases his tail. He'll be resting and suddenly become aware of his tail tip, and he'll do really cute rolls trying to capture it *^_^* ... soooooo cute!!!
mmm... i'm sleepy now.
sweet kitten dream time!!!

Date: 2004-06-28 03:59 pm (UTC)Oh! Why a lawyer?
Why not? ;)
Date: 2004-06-29 06:05 pm (UTC)I really wanted to go into animation, but from what I could see, the hiring options in the field were grim, and I so don't want to move to Southern California. I'd go nuts. No offense, Roz, but NorCal rules. ;)
A lot of philosophy undergrads (that's me) go into law, and I find the field quite fascinating. And I'm a decent writer; that's useful in my profession. Besides, a good lawyer can really help people. I'm not passionate about it in the same way I am over art or fiction writing, but on consideration that's probably a good thing.
It's been one heck of a long road, bur so far, it's working out. And I'm very happy with my job.

Date: 2004-06-29 10:17 am (UTC)Question.. What was your first encounter with "The Fandom?"

Date: 2004-06-29 05:58 pm (UTC)Nah, I know that you're talking about furry, Roz. I'm one of those who was *always* furry, even before knowing about the fandom. As a tiny child, I refused to play with dolls or toys that were human-referential (it worried my kindergarten teacher something fierce. ;) Was convinced that I was a rabbit in a human body. (a *rabbit???*) Was (am) obsessed with animals and animals with human characteristics. As a pre-teen drew and wrote long, complex and sometimes quite racy comics and stories starring my animal toys.
I discovered furry fandom in the form of YARF! when I was, oh, thirteen or so, at a dealer's table at Baycon, and I was utterly thrilled, enthralled and inspired. (very much so by your work, among others, m'dear.) So here I am today.
