The Naming of Cats...
Jun. 29th, 2004 06:11 pmLittle katzchen continues to enthrall me with bliss. He is so fun! And bengal fur is amazingly soft. I didn't know about this before, because cat-laddie is the first bengal I've ever actually seen in the fur, much less petted.
The other really interesting thing, and I only noticed this last night, about the beastling is that his eyes are the *exact* shade mine are...kind of a greenish/bluish/gray. It's a very strange effect. I'm hoping the pics I've taken come out.
But he needs a name. I like Pouncival, and I like Tempo (names with movement, as this is such a lively cat)...so being the incredibly decicive person I am (hah!) it looks like I may go with both. I'm leaning towards his registered name being something like Basts Pouncival at Tempo. (or is it Bast's? Mooncat, what is your official cattery name?)
Of course, he continues to answer to Angel Baby, his kitten name, too.
None of this helps me decide what to actually call the cat.

The naming of cats... I like your idea of giving him ALL the names *^_^* -- yes, it would be Basts (name of cat here) -- but I wouldn't put "at" in the name. It would be "Basts Pouncival Tempo" or "Basts Tempo Pouncival"
Myself I'd be tempted to name him after some great mountain climber, because he strolls straight up a person like they are vertical cat walks. =3 heh...
My own cats are usually baby named after gods, elements, and cartoon characters >^,,^< though names shift. From last years litter, baby named after Gargoyles characters, my Goliath became Watered Silk, and Fox became Fox Witchlight.
I think Pouncival is a sweet name *^_^* for he is so pouncy.
Isn't his coat sweet? It will only get better too, because with his lines he is pelted as well as glittered, which means a soft, dense, short haired coat full of sparklies!!! Once he gets out of his fuzzy stage, and that undercoat becomes clearly visible again, you'll see him grow just more and more spectacular.
Ooo... *misses baby* ... want kitty kisses!!!
*licks jackel onna nose*
meows!

Date: 2004-07-01 09:22 pm (UTC)He is amazingly pouncy...pouncing is just what he *does.* So Basts Tempo Pouncival it is, 'Pounce' or (more commonly) "*owwwwwwwww!!! Pounce! That's my *skin*!!!!!"
love the baby, MC. Thank you from the bottom of my heart...
