Oh man. Kim Harrison's new fun bit of fluff book is out. And guess who can has it?!

Fact: career on rocks or no, it is impossible to be entirely depressed when you live in a redwood forest, have delightful pets (human and otherwise, heh) AND have a shiny new hardcover about lesbian vampires. Now, if you'll excuse me, I will be locked away with teh book for a couple of days.

Everyone has a StarWing-given right to guilty pleasures! Heaven knows, I've enough of those myself. Being pure, it's just no fun at all.

And you got at least one friend, even if he is a straight-laced boring heterosexual guy, out there always cheering you on, Jackel. He tries to never forget a kind soul, and you definitely qualify. :>

Just way too much of our neurotic, conservative society seems hell-bent on denying everyone ELSE guilty pleasures, while secretly turning our own into some sort of statement of (white/male/rich/dom/whatever) privilege. Being a political junkie, I see way, way too much of society's underbelly up close and personal. The sausage factories of our minds, in a way.

It's a blessing that I've managed to shed a lot of my own prejudices. It opened up so many new worlds and let me see folks like you for the treasures you are. :>
