Cute, so very cute

So, I am sitting on my bicycle trainer, pedaling dutifully in an attempt to regain my edge and lose a few extra pounds (sigh, I know, near-universal issue in this culture) and I'm wondering why I can't seem to get my cadence up. Then I look over at Kaya, hanging sideways off her tree, eyes half-lidded and headfeathers fluffed in bliss and I think AH! Maybe if I wasn't listening to mellow, sleepy Grateful Dead music...

Yes: my parrot appears to be a Dead fan. There's just no mistaking that zoned out expression. Um...

Sorry, Miz K. My workout takes precedence. /switches music to the obnoxious techno mix. Kaya sighs and starts demolishing a toy with slow deliberation. Gavin perks up cheerfully and squeaks.../

Also, it has come to my attention that some people do not think that serpents are cute. I really don't understand this attitude. I mean really. Look at this little face and tell me that Delphi isn't cute like kittens and bunnies!!!!

I should photo the mini Delphic Python more; he really is a pretty fellow....but usually in motion when out of his terrarium. And, being well-fed, usually placid and still while within it. Recently, the little guy has taken to denning in a visible spot, which is nice, although no matter how much I scrub that glass, it still reflects in pretty funky ways when photographed through.

You can help that by placing the lens of the camera right up against the glass and by not using flash and/or shining light directly into the terrarium from above rather than ambient light that goes through the glass.

Snakes are cute! the really big ones make me nervous but only because I know just how strong they are and of course the poison ones scare me silly.
