Today I have a fiddle gig, which pleases me tremendously. It's playing for English Counrtry dancers, which is one of the things that I do that I haven't, for a few years. Getting back into playing in public fora is probably really good for me right now, and I'm going for the opportunity.

The not so great issue? The caller got me the final set list...yesterday. And I don't know any of these tunes. /swallows/. Gee, it's a good thing that the English Country/Contra people don't have the Irish session aversion to using sheet music. (you don't pull music out at an Irish session. It just Isn't Done. What you DO do is memorize all of the chestnuts and try to pick up stuff you don't know on the fly, playing softly). Sheet music is my Friend. Especially right now.

I have depositions all this week, after a long dry spell. Economically fabulous for me right now, but, um, *all week long*? And most likely several weeks into the future, too. Damn, I'm glad I'm not f/t at that job anymore. I'm also working on some things for independent clients, also a very happy, useful thing, but, wow, everything always happens at once, dosen't it?

Oh yes, and then there's this woman in the East Bay that I'm seeing...some time between my gig in Sonoma County and my depo in Sonoma County. Right. /juggles scheduling like crazy/.

So, why for am I sitting in front of the computer instead of practicing those *16 tunes*???? /cracks whip at self./

Also: new dragon eggs. They so cute, won't you please click on their cute selves? The site has apparently redone all of the art for these dragons. They're all anime now.

If you're ever doing a set open for the public I'd like to come and listen, sheet music or no.

This dance was open to the public; they all are. However, this is in Sebastopol. I'm not sure where you're located, but it might be a bit of a haul.

At any rate, I will give warning and directions for the next one. :)
