Wow. That is one **VERY** happy little fox, and better socialized then I've ever sene one before, ever.
Whoever says that animals don't have feeling as acute as ours, needs to watch that video. A wild thing (even a rehab animal) making it blindingly obvious how much he's enjoying a little unnatural pampering! :)
I'm assuming that this adorable little guy was just hand-raised and loves his people. Hand-reared foxes (and wild cats, genets, etc.) can sometimes be really tame...I've heard many accounts of people raising red foxes and having the animals continue to enjoy attention as adults. I got to go to this private zoo/wild animal petting zoo on the Oregon coast, and held a perfectly magnificent and tame adult red vixen. I loved her. She wasn't as happy to be touched as this little guy, but she clearly liked being held. High point of my life. :D
Of course, like any wild animal pet, one has to take into account the possibility that a pet fox might not stay tame into adulthood, and even if it does, it will require significant time, facilities, investment, etc. Oh, and red fox urine really REALLY stinks and, fixed or no, they mark profusely. But if I had the land and the money I would totally keep a pet foxie. I dream about it all the time.
(Not that my three wolf hybrids are enough in terms of sometimes difficult, high-maintenance pets or anything...)
