Well, so the bad news: my camera died the true death. /Moment of silence/

The good news: a very shiny new Sony DSC-H10 which I had at a fantastic sale price, not much more than the inferior cameras. It's faster than the old one and has a much better zoom. I suspect the lens is better as well, but if not it's certainly bigger. I wish I knew more about cameras and had actual photographic skills...but I DO know that this one has bells 'n whistles, and I'm happy about that. I'll play with it, and we'll see if I get better pics than I did with the old one.

Of course, you know what I'm going to DO with this camera. I have a wealth of furred and feathered things. It's only appropriate to share.

Miz Kitty Nocturne is getting bolder. I continue to suspect that the little girl will have plenty of attitude as she ages. She has already learned to demand tuna. Sigh.

Find the one that isn't a plush in these pics. Magic is just so tolerant.

Small parrots fluffed and preening one another. Awwwwwww. Gavin's feathers look a lot crappier in these pics than they do IRL; he's actually almost in perfect feather again.

Also: the new camera is the first electronic I've bought that didn't come packaged in yards of styrofoam. In fact, but for a couple of small plastic bags, all of its packaging was paper! I was SO pleased, I may write Sony a thank you for this. I'm really, REALLY happy about that trend. Go, Sony.

This would be in the future when I have more time and less cats. I'm very much an underdog person. I love the dogs that require extra time and effort. Spending time training and loving something easy like a pomeranian is okay for some but I love the never tamed part (and the accompanying hassle) of big and wild dogs.

Oh I've had what would be called a northern dog before. My old dog was an illegally bred wolf mix. Some jackasses were breeding random males to a couple of female wolves to get fighting dogs. All the pups who looked wolfy were kept and sold while any non wolfy ones were "disposed of". According to the file, my dog came off the second she-wolf and a male australian/husky mix. she looked more like her dad and apparently that was true of most of her litter mates so her and the other pups were duct taped to the sides of a huge box and put out in the sun behind a grocery store with a sheet of tin over the box. Luckily someone found them but most of the pups were gone or had to be put down. My future baby was on the side that was in the shadow of the building so she was ok. But I definitely had to work with her a lot and she was still half wild animal even years after living with us and being spoiled. Trained but her feral side was still apparent.

Personally I hate when people do that; get a dog cause it's pretty without researching what they were getting into. that's like having a baby cause you're bored. Grr. I get really huffy when I see people with dogs that obviously haven't gotten the training they need. In a pug, that's not too bad but like a pitbull or rott; that can get dangerous. The dog breed isn't bad, it's stupid owners. I love me some rottwielers and I see them being turned into something mean because people think that's ok or that's just how they are. They can be such sweetypies when raised right.
