Also, amusingly enough, I don't come across as that weird on my LJ. No other entity, I believe, has ever accused me of not being weird. ;)

It thinks I'm a boy. So I went to Gender Genie. It also thinks I'm a boy, based on my lack of use of any feminine pronouns. Turns out only boys write in a gender neutral manner, girls apparently don't.

I actually ranted about this in my LJ.

As one commenter more succinctly put it, this isn't about discovering which gender you are, this is about discovering which gender stereotype you fit into, and since no one fits 100% into their assigned sociological role, perhaps gender stereotypes aren't all that useful :-)

For the record, the Blogalyzer can't tell if I'm male or female and the Gender Genie thinks I'm female only when I discuss relationships, but all entries that talk about myself it thinks I'm male.

Also, I'm 75% wierder than other LJers (wierdness level of 35)

Yeah, that was a particularly thought-provoking rant, actually. Stereotypes, how we come to them and what we do with them, is a subject scary, frustrating and fascinating all at once.

Yep, I scored 35 as well.

Very interesting post. I suppose it tags me male (I'm not) because many of my recent posts (I chose to c&p the last twenty posts, locked and all, to give it a better range) are heavily geek related. And as you pointed out, girls aren't supposed to talk about things, just relationships. I should pick out some of my recent posts about my marriage and see what it makes of them. And other than that, I never talk about relationships, cuz I'm generally against them. I do talk about culture (in the sociology sense, not the theatre sense), but I intentionally use nothing but gender neutral language on those posts cuz, well, I hate gender roles. Even if I do understand how they came about.
