Autumn's come. I may or may not finish writing the series of little word strings I've been messing with on this subject, but it has, and I'm happy. There's a certain quiet contemplation, a subdued sorrow with threads of joy, that comes of watching the world around me die back and come alive, awaiting moisture in the growing cold.
Fenris' absence remains painful, shocking me from time to time, and there are moments when I feel it keenly. I'm adjusting to the loss, but it will be awhile before this few dogs (only three, hah) feels normal.
The kitten is adorable, and growing swiftly, which they do. Tiger continues to parent her lovingly, which I still find completely amazing and one of the cutest things ever. Of course I can't have a kitten without photographing the process, and denying those photos would really be holding out unfairly, so here you are.
These are about 2 weeks old. Nocturne is over her kitty cold, and has put on weight nicely...she has proper kittenish plumpness, and one can no longer feel every rib and vertebra in sharp detail. Her coat's nicer, too. She also has a LOT more energy. Which she likes to spend by pouncing on pretty much everything.

These are more recent. Tiger and Nocturne snuggling, then getting rowdy. Awwwwwwww.

It's a bad picture. I know that. I still love it.

My house contains felines.

Magic has such a pretty face.

This is probably the best pic of Nocturne to date. Also, I really need to store the hand truck somewhere other than in the living room, possibly.

P0ny!

And my little shoal of vegetarian piranha:

I've started making fires in the morning again; yep, it's fall. Cats are happy.

And a pretty little dog.

It's amusing that you and I have similar tastes in interior decorating. Although mine steers just a bit more toward the 'rustic' :D

Date: 2008-09-15 06:26 pm (UTC)River rocks on the stove are there...because they're neat, can be used for hot rock massage (of course you have to take them off for awhile first so they aren't too hot) and to put in the fish tank for heat when we have power outages that last longer than a day or so.
I wish my interior decorating was a little more rustic, actually, and perhaps a bit more intentional. I'm working on it. ;)

Date: 2008-09-15 07:18 pm (UTC)And Appys are great! My fleabit roan Appy was the first one you saw on what we dubbed "Appy Alley", a row of paddocks that housed nearly all the Appys at our stables in Hawaii. We just called them 'Crappy Appys' out of affection. ♥♥♥
I'll have to post a pic of the tongue-in-groove plank walls, but here is the type of furniture I have in the livingroom, complete with Belgian Shepherd! :D
