Cat and Dog meme

Another yanked from FA. I'm occupying myself while riding the bike training, because, yaknow, I've not had enough exercise recently.
If you have a cat or a dog, consider yourself tagged if you have the time and patience for this inanity. This means you.
1.) Where did you get your dog/cat?
Pryde and Jez: bred by me.
Rogue: from a local breeder, at Yule. If you're ready and want a dog and aren't impulse-buying, Christmas is actually a WONDERFUL time to get a puppy, despite many pet organizations' claims to the contrary. (For a good cause, though, eg the caveats I just gave).
Magic: My mom. A persian breeder who was terminally ill gave her to mom. She had first rescued Magic from a breeder who apparently didn't treat her cats very well. So I am Magic's 4th person.
Tiger: The Awesome
mooncatx
Nocturne: My mom being a SPO/irresponsible breeder.
2.)What did you first think when you saw him/her?
Pryde: This is the one I'm keeping. This the minute he entered the world on my lap, only the second of twelve, but I had utter certainty. I knew.
Jez: Awww, pretty little girl. I think she could be the one I keep.
Rogue:OMG Sheltie puppy /brainmelts/
Magic: Mom, WTF are you getting another cat for? Later, pretty cat. Later, dammit, I really like this cat.
Tiger: In a photo in which he was smaller than Mooncatx's cellphone. AWWWWWWWWWWWW OOMG Bengal kitten /brainmelts/
Nocturne: Poor sick little thing needs to see a vet. This one will probably die.
3.) What did you name your dog/cat and why?
Pryderi: A noble but hot-headed hero from the Welsh Mabinogion myth cycle, some of my favorite stories.
Jezebel: One of the original strong women from myhtology. I was thinking specifically of the old-Testament queen who seemed pretty reasonable in her standing up to the men in her life, for whcih she was stoned to death. For Biblical figures to look up to, you can't beat her.
Little Rogue of Earthsea: A pampered flower of a puppy who needed a strong name to grow into. She's named for both the river and the X-woman. Earthsea Wolves and Shelties is the name of my kennel, not that it's mattered much yet.
Magic: I was being really uncreative, I guess. She was named Sweetie or something even more inane when I got her. Magic fit and stuck.
Basts Pouncival Titanium Tiger: Basts is his cattery of origin. Pouncival was going to be his call name, but it didn't stick. Tiger did, and oh man, it fits him way too well but I feel like the least creative cat owner ever.
Miz Kitty Nocturne in C Flat Minor: I'm silly. I couldn't decide between two names and so they both collided and stuck.
4.Do you think your dog/cat loves you?
'Love' is a term imprecicely used for a huge range of emotions even just within people, but they seem to have in common a strong attachment bond and desire for the presence of the beloved. All of my beasts love me, though their bonds and expressions of them are all individual.
5.What does your Dog/Cat look like? Does s/he have any neat patterns or anything?
Scroll down my journal a few entries and you will see copious photos of everyone. Pryde is most distinct for his size and amazing long, silvery, Irish-marked coat. Jez has a beautiful platinum sheen to her coat and is very wolfish looking. Rogue is a pretty typically perfect mahogany sable sheltie, also Irish-marked (i.e., the white chest, collar and stockings). Magic is a deep blue-black with the distinct color and texture of a purebred Bombay, though her green eyes would DQ her at show. Tiger has the spotting, rosetting and glitter that his wild grandfather lent his line and, as Bengals tend to be, is a stunningly beautiful cat. Nocturne is cute and fluffy and has adorably tiny white markings.
6.) What are your favorite physical features on him/her?(eyes, nose, fur, color, patterns on fur, etc)
I couldn't say. They're all really beautiful animals with so many features that I love. Rogue's pointy little muzzle is maybe my favorite bit of her, though.
7.) What kind of personality would you say your dog has?
Pryde: Aloof and even fearful of strangers, very pack-oriented and loyal with his own. Serious, somber and very...human, somehow.
Jez: Silly and sweet but also quite intense.
Rogue: Thoughtful, hard-working, playful.
Magic: affection in the form of a little black furball who gets so happy when she purrs that she drools. :P
Tiger: In charge of the place, often frustrated with the rest of our incompetence. My GF has dubbed him the "Gay Choreographer Cat." It fits.
Nocturne: So far, a kitten. But there are glimmers of a very nice, affectionate cat under all of the baby tornado energy.
8.) What are your favorite habits of your dog/cat?
Pryde: His great loyalty.
Jez: Her earnestness.
Rogue: How excited she is on the trail and how proud she gets of her collars and backpack. She is a girly girl who loves her accessories.
Magic: Her affectionate nature.
Tiger: His wild grace.
Nocturne: When she climbs up into my lap and purrs when I'm at the computer.
9.)What habits do you dislike?
Pryde: I wish he wsa less agressive with other male dogs and less shy of people. However, the agression is not unusual for intact male wolfdogs, or lots of dogs for that matter, and many wolfdogs are shy.
Jez: She can be agressive and dominant too. Again, typical wolfdog; willingness to be unconditionally friendly with strange dogs even as an adult is a neotewnic behavior we've bred into domestic dogs. I don't really get to complain.
Rogue: She's barky.
Magic: She drools.
Tiger: I wish he was a more 'touchy' cat.
Nocturne: Hasn't learned to stay off the windowsills yet.
10.) Do you play with your dog/cat? What type of activities do you play with him?
Pryde and I like to chase each other at the beach. He and Jez will chase tennis balls; sometime Jez will go for sticks, too.
Rogue has a toy duck which she likes to have thrown and tugged on.
Magic is getting old, and I can't get her to play much any more She used to like kitty fishing poles.
Tiger has a 'fishing pole' type cat toy that he loves, but he's really into the laser pointer. Nocturne likes a lighter lure than Tiger, and she also chases the laser. Tiger and Nocturne are one another's favorite toys right now. It's really cute.
7) Some people say dogs and cats reflect an owner's personality. Do you think this is true for you and your pet?
heh...maybe. I can only hope; they're a pretty impressive six animals. I think that I share traits with all of them. Complex personality, I guess.
I don't drool when I purr, though. Just so you know.
8) Last but not least, what are some of the funniest moments or things you've caught your cat/dog doing?
Pryde: Delicately picking blackberries.
Jez: the way she knows immediately when I'm planning to bathe her and tries to go back in the kennel. This can also be filed under the most annoying.
Rogue: Blowing bubbles in the pond with her nose. Too cute.
Magic: Falling off a railing and then having that mortally embarassed OMG you didn't see that expression which is unique to cats who have just been witnessed doing something unforgivably clumsy. Hilarious when she was young; I'd probably worry now.
Tiger: Enjoys being vaccumed. No, really. He is one seriously weird little cat.
Nocturne: The time she brought Rogue's toy fox to her. Playing with dog toys which are bigger than she is in general.
