I am curled up by the woodstove which heats my house, writing on a laptop. That's pretty darn neat, really.

Last weekend, I went to Covelo for the first time since L and K moved there. It was the first time I'd seen her since we broke up, and it was harder to be around her than I thought it would be. My welcome wasn't particularly warm. So it goes. Anyway, I needed to distract myself a little before attempting the very dangerous road between Covelo and 101, so I stopped at this ranch which raises bucking bulls for rodeos. I think that these bulls are just gorgeous. I want the grey one and the black one. I'll name them, uh, Fluffy and Sparky.
Seriously, if I could, I would have a big scary bull. They were more scared of me, though: like most cattle one encounters, these are quite shy. Only one could be coaxed close enough to the fence that I could pet him, but he seemed to like having his poll scratched.

Something had died in the woods yesterday. The undertakers were there to care for it. At least, I assume death; I have never seen vultures roosting here before, and there were four of them.

I took my dogs to the beach. It was a beautiful, clear October day.

Rogue is pretty.

So's Jez.

Pryde decided that kelp was totally for chewing today.

nom kelp nom

Pryde and Rogue investigate some kelp

While Jez is rubs her head against my butt.

Little Nocturne is growing a bit. She is going to be an elegant sort of cat, I think.

And my new polar-bear rug. Oh wait, that's the dog.

Nocturne, you so aren't allowed to walk on the keyboard.

Date: 2008-10-12 04:50 pm (UTC)Rogue is *very* pretty, but she looks disgusted with the kelp. Ew!
I really need to get Reid out to the beach. I'm curious how she'll react to the water.
Oh, roosting vultures? CREEPY!

Pryde looks like an Arctic Lion or something.
And Jez is the lioness. :)
And Rogue does look like a princess! :)
Nocturne looks a lot less bitchy.

Date: 2008-10-15 04:30 pm (UTC)I am glad you like my pets. Pryderi likes to follow me around the house and become a rug near wherever I happen to be sitting. he is a super-convenient foot warmer.
