Ugh. Sick now. Stomach flu or food poisoning, either way, Not Fun!
But Kestrel was over this weekend and we had a good time. We also dealt with some painful stuff in what I think was a really healthy and trust-building way. So that is a very good thing.

I also have kitties. Nocturne's warm purry little body feels great against my sore midsection.


Black-cat cuteness! Magic and Nocturne seem to have gotten over their differences. Given that two thirds of my cats are black, and at least that much of the bedding, mats, chairs etc about the house are black or dark colors, I do end up sitting on them accidentally more often than I'd like. But it's still awfully cute.





Magic: "Kitten is also MY kitten."


Tiger gets the beanbag cat throne. "OK, OK, you can borrow her. She's still my kitten, though."


And then there is the innocent blue stare of the sheltiepup parfait.

Pretty babies.

I've only ever had one black cat. She was a stub-tail Manx with two white spots on her chest and belly. Beautiful girl--we named her Domino. I gave her to my roommate when she moved out, and they were happy together for many, many years. She's gone now, of course.

My current three are an orange tabby, a brown tabby, and a calico.

I've had several black cats now, and they're just so striking and regal. Of course, there isn't a color of cat that I don't find delightfully attractive. Calicos are a favorite, too.

I occasionally entertain a fantasy of some day adopting 5 or so solid black cats. Just because it would be weird, and cool, and adorable.

AAAAAGH BLUEBERRY STARE OF D00M. I am squish!

Moonlight was such a sweet, beautiful cat, and so like Magic. I miss her, too. Bombays are just completely awesome cats, and that's all there is to it. I wish you still had her.

As for D00M...the blueberry just licked my face. With that long, thin strip of sheltie tongue. And nestled into my lap...with the kitten. There is no option but squish.
