Comic Books...
Apr. 29th, 2004 09:15 am...are addictive and bad!!!
When I initially gave into temptation a few months ago and started reading X-men comics, I figured that I'd keep it to 'X-treme' because that title had a nice satisfying storyline and contained all my favorite characters. It remains my fave...but then 'Mystique' got reccomended, and that's just so fun I started following it, and then 'New X-men' is really good sometimes and seems to be the central story around which all else revolves, so naturally I follow it too. During all of this I was resisting temptation to follow 'Wolverine', but the writing on that one is just so good that I just subscribed to it, too.
Claremont is moving to 'Uncanny.' Since he does such a great job on XXM, I want to pick it up for sake of completeness. And, while at the bookstore yesterday not resisting temptation, I saw that 'New Mutants' had a *really* good werewolf story...so nice that I had to take it home...
Right. Now I remember why I shouldn't be following monthly comics. Addictive and bad, and Marvel knows full well that it can hook suckers such as myself into buying more and more of them by splitting the story into several portions, thereby making the reader follow multiple titles to get the entire picture of what's going on.
oh, but they are so fun, though...
cute, neh?? But we all know I'm actually a jackal, not a wolf.
current reads: a whole slew of darn comic books. :P XXM is still my fave; this months made me veeery happy. Picked up a great book about rats yesterday that I'll review fully when I finish.
