...are addictive and bad!!!

When I initially gave into temptation a few months ago and started reading X-men comics, I figured that I'd keep it to 'X-treme' because that title had a nice satisfying storyline and contained all my favorite characters. It remains my fave...but then 'Mystique' got reccomended, and that's just so fun I started following it, and then 'New X-men' is really good sometimes and seems to be the central story around which all else revolves, so naturally I follow it too. During all of this I was resisting temptation to follow 'Wolverine', but the writing on that one is just so good that I just subscribed to it, too.

Claremont is moving to 'Uncanny.' Since he does such a great job on XXM, I want to pick it up for sake of completeness. And, while at the bookstore yesterday not resisting temptation, I saw that 'New Mutants' had a *really* good werewolf story...so nice that I had to take it home...

Right. Now I remember why I shouldn't be following monthly comics. Addictive and bad, and Marvel knows full well that it can hook suckers such as myself into buying more and more of them by splitting the story into several portions, thereby making the reader follow multiple titles to get the entire picture of what's going on.

oh, but they are so fun, though...

cute, neh?? But we all know I'm actually a jackal, not a wolf.

current reads: a whole slew of darn comic books. :P XXM is still my fave; this months made me veeery happy. Picked up a great book about rats yesterday that I'll review fully when I finish.

Personally I haven't read Marvel in years, except for Mystique, which is great. The only comics I read now are DC's Batman (especially any issue with Poison Ivy or Harley Quinn) and Birds of Prey - which has really become cheesecake central :D

Gee, Allaine, I never would have guessed you liked Harley or Ivy. ;)

The X-men thing is a resurgance of a habit from cub-hood I thought I'd long since kicked. Far stronger now than ever, I fear. But my other great comic book love (outside of things furry, that is) is DC; Gaiman's 'Sandman' is one of my favorite fictions ever, ever, ever. But the other stuff? What I've seen of some of the recent DC art is nifty, but generally I avoid super hero comics like...the plagues. ;)

eeek! Y'don't say?? And here I've been such a good girl about not partaking of controlled substances up to this point. They should put warning labels on those things. ;)

ahhhh those were the days, I stopped doing monthly comic reading about the time of the Emma Frost murder in NXM, I've been resisting New Mutants hard...if they bring back Illyana...I'm done, I'll have to buy it.

Totally. I love Illyana, want her back.
Emma's murder and subsequent ressurection is one of my favorite NXM bits. And Bishop asking Phoenix about it...ooh, that whole sequence gives me happy shivers.
