I am at that phase of tired where I need to sleep and don't wanna.
So I went to my mom and brother's place for dinner and had a tolerable time with them; no nagging til the very end, yay! And I saw my little spotty-butted boy, who I swear grows an inch every time I see him, and furthermore is now very fuzzy.
I took Gavin with me, because he's been lonely and he loves to socialize anyhow. He had fun scarfing from my plate. Following my example, I suppose, he had more turkey and mashed potatoes at dinner than a little conure probably ought to have (yes, Gavin eats turkey. He LOVES it: nom nom nom. He rarely gets meat as it isn't that great for him, though). After mom's, I went to the party Kestrel and Lucy were at, with a bunch of really sweet, wonderful friends, which decreased a bit of my familial stress.
Gavin is such a ham, and loved being passed around. The funniest moment was when my friend Jody was holding him and he dove into her glass for a sip of her wine. He did get a tiny taste before she removed him, but MAN did he want more...he was doing the conure headbobbing, wings-outstretched 'I WANT THAT' dance and totally tracking her wineglass with his alert beady little eyes.
So, not only am I an introvert with an extroverted bird, aparently I have custody of an extroverted party bird with a taste for the liquor. Good to know, good to know.
(and no, you must never give birds wine, even if they want it...but that was damn funny).
And photos, of Dancer this time, and also another of me in the woods because people seemed to like the last post of them. :)
