And you thought this journal was all-pet-photos-all-the-time before I got my new camera...

Meet the zoo. For the first time ever, I think, headshots of all of the nonhuman critters in my keeping in one post! Some of them are, alas, not the best, because new camera hates Camp Meeker's lighting only a little bit less than every other camera I've tested it on, but I took every last one of them today.

Photobucket

(Also, Adopt one today! and Adopt one today!, Adopt one today!).

Pryderi, my beloved. Powerful, sensitive, moody, complex, and aging.
Photobucket

Jezebel. Sweet, silly, affectionate, still reminds you that she's mostly wolf now and again.
Photobucket

Little Rogue of Earthsea. Awesome little dog, somewhat more somber since Kestrel left.
Photobucket

Outlaws Cobalt Gambit is a puppy, but he'll get over that eventually.
Photobucket

Basts Pouncival Titanium Tiger. You can take the tiger out of the jungle, but they just bring it in with them. He's plotting eating my rabbit in this pic. I still cringe at the fact that I have a cat named Tiger (how original!) but Pouncival didn't stick...and if any cat earned the name, it's this one.
Photobucket

Magic is made of purrs and love and drool.
Photobucket

Nocturne is a teeny little kitty with a super-adorable teeny meow, and also a teeeeeny little brain.
Photobucket

Bindi the velveteen lop really is as soft as she looks in this picture. Softer.
Photobucket

Fishies! Silver dollars Shine, Shimmer, Spot and Silver, betta Sapphire, pictus cat Comfort and plecostomus Harmony. What? You can so name fish.
Photobucket

Miz Kaya Aphrodite. Clever, sly, gentle little parrot. Birdgeeks, check out how her shoulders really don't have the usual Meyer's yellow epatulets. Kaya is a Poimuttbird!
Photobucket

Gavin. Quick, fun, snuggly, full of conure 'tude. I just wish he'd leave his darn chest feathers alone.
Photobucket

Dux. Felix (who I am tempted to rename Methuselah), Josephine and Vivienne. The dux were not in a photogenic mood today, I fear, but I did at least get an adequate shot of all three.
Photobucket

Marilyn lays the prettiest green eggs.
Photobucket

This picture pretty much sums up Wild Blue's personality. When you are a small chicken, you must remain ever vigilant.
Photobucket

Delphi, being all lovely and graceful. I'll post the really cute 'nakey pics tomorrow. He's in the middle of shedding (which he has never ever done all in one piece like snakes ought), which explains why he refused his rat last week.
Photobucket

Tami Sue, my dear old friend.
Photobucket

Dancer continues to startle me with what a really shockingly good horse he is. Just the right combination of lightness and excitement tempered by calm willingness to listen. I swear, he's almost worth keeping a stud entirely on the basis of his personality, and I really hope he passes it to his get. I guess we're about to find out...
Photobucket

Bey Breeze the doompony is going to foal, like, any second now. Her udder has been bagged up for several days and seemed even moreso this afternoon when I checked in on her. She is also, reportedly, being even more cranky and bitchy than usual. She was perfectly sweet to me, but then she and I have a series of agreements about that.
Photobucket

And that's them.

Wow ... you guys have a full house over there!

And yes, you can so name fish. Although I don't know how you do it with the silvers -- if I tried to tell the clown loaches apart, much less the constantly rotating army of guppies, I'd go nuts.

Well, Spot is easy; she has spots and is probably of a different subspecies. Silver is the biggest one, Shimmer has faint spotting. But I confess that the names are pretty arbitrary.

Awesome, awesome pictures! The one of Gavin in flight, and the one of Nocturn, especially. And oh, my God, I envy you being able to have so many animals in your life.

Man, Tami Sue is still on the go. Good for her.

We need to send you pics of our little Raksha's gradual shift from floppy-eared teddy bear to miniature wolf, over the course of a month. Jesus, that creature's going to be the size of a bus. Gotta get the pics out of the camera first, though.

Yeah, ol' Tami is doing really well!

I want to see pictures of this little wolfling. I insist upon photographic proof of the cuteness!

heee, we shall soon see if I have a repeat of the sexual drama in the poultry pen this year.

Bindi is a super adorable fuzzy soft bunny.

If you do... you have got to ink it! Talk about a muse for furry (or is that feathered?) sexual hilarity!

Wow! This is so amazing. :-)

Last summer, I came across a wild python much like Delphi:
    http://yathin.livejournal.com/225793.html

And feral horses in Death Valley like Bey Breeze, Dancer and Tami Sue:
    http://yathin.livejournal.com/254978.html

And the dogs are sooooo cute! I almost want to go back home right now to give a hug to my pets, but I'll have to fly 10,000 miles to the other side of the world for that! :(

Sorry for going through your older posts, but I was really curious to see more of your pets after I saw today's post. :-)

Oh, lovely pics! I hope you get reunited with your creatures soon. And please, go through old posts at will.

I have this fantasy about watching mustangs from horseback, but really, I think everyone probably does.

Last summer, a friend and I went horseback riding on the north rim of the Grand Canyon. That was my first horse ride ever and it was an amazing experience to see wildlife - squirrels and birds - during the ride. It all felt so natural - unlike the jeep safaris that I'm used to taking back in India. :-)

That sounds like heaven. It's really wonderful to see wildlife from horseback; in many instances, they are less frightened by a horse than by a a vehicle or human, and I've had some nice encounters that way.
