Beltane

[summer_jackel]

It rained on Beltane this year:
cool, persistent drops
falling through air made heady
with the lives of plants.
Growing, breathing, becoming, blooming
renewing this dry ground
May I walk forward ribboned with memories
amid the youth of all the world.

I *wish* it had rained on Beltane here. No such luck. In June, though, it'll rain more afternoons than not.

Happy Beltane!!!!
Nope it was wonderfully sunny here.
But birds are singing, and cats are stalking.
The sad thing is one of the apple trees died, it was old, and sad and needed more help than I know what to do.
so RIP Apple tree, I will miss you. :(

I'm sorry about your apple tree. Alas, plants, like the rest of us, are finite beings. :( This is a good time of year to plant things, though.

I was thinking of getting a lovely little dwarf fuji apple, but I resisted the impulse. I don't get enough sun here for it to flower.
