How could I not love dogs like these?

My boys sharing a sniff.

Lovely Jezzie, coming into summer coat.

This madrone is so beautiful.

Smelling the flowers, awwwwww. Yeah, yeah, I know he's really smelling the dog pee. Still cute.

Pryde is getting so old. His low back is really a problem, but he is still doing OK and enjoying life.

Noble Trail Sheltie is veteran of many wilderness excursions.
Photobucket

I didn't pose him. He just lay down next to the blue wildflowers that matched his eyes and looked up at the camera. I swear on a stack of the sacred text of your choice.

A neighbor comes to visit.

Dux Josephine, Vivienne and Felix.

Hens Wild Blue, most likely some kind of bantam cross, and Arcata, who is a silver phoenix given to me by [livejournal.com profile] javachickn. She's so gorgeous, but you should see the roosters!

If Kaya wasn't so good natured, I would worry about what exactly she was scheming all the time.

Plants of mine which are not finicky maples. My very favorite orchid; doesn't it look like lungs?

Roses don't tend to do well here---too damp, not enough sun---but this one is doing ok.

I have about a zillion fuchsias, which are just starting to bloom. They attract a lot of hummingbirds, and my yard is subject to many tiny but serious turf disputes.

This wasn't posed, either.

And this morning (why do I bother bathing them?)

Your critters are so very beautiful.

Watching them age is beyond difficult... Bo seems to age by the day, his lower back is getting worse as time goes on too.
I'm glad Pryde is still feeling alright. He looks wonderful.

Thanks! I think that watching them age is one of the most difficult things about having them. Yet, an old dog who knows you is such a blessing.

I felt like that about my old kitty, Trouble. We'd been together so long (15 years) that we fit together like a hand and a glove.

Most of the turf disputes in my yard are between cardinals.

Lovely pics!

Thanks! I've never seen a live cardinal, but some day I hope to.

Oh, I have plenty! I'll mail you some. :-)

I love, love, love your life. If I ever make it out to the West Coast, I want to visit with you. I'll even smuggle you some Cardinals in my suitcase. It will save me the postage.

hahahahaha, suddenly I have this surfeit of cardinals. They would be so pretty but incongruous here in the redwoods!

I agree with comments up above, I love your life.
How lucky to have those wonderful animals to be around, and the place is gorgeous.
