Getting to Know You Meme thingy

Coba claims to have killed his first rat this morning! He presented a big gray rat at Timothy's feet, and all were impressed. I don't know if he is taking credit for someone else's good deed, or if my fluffy pink-pawed little housefox parfait actually did something that useful, but I praised lots (and gave Tiger some tuna, just in case). Good dog! Of course, I'm not thrilled by the rat itself, but I do see one every few years.
Coba sez he is a Fierce Guard Dog and posted about it on Facebook.
OK, meme time. I just did this on
troubleagain's LJ, and am spreading for a couple of reasons. A: I'm on a bike, hour 3, and need a distraction and B: I do have a few new/ish arrivals here who may not have some basic info about me. So here goes. Play and repost if you choose and, especially if I might not otherwise know, feel invited to tell me about yourself.
In the comments, if you would be so kind, copy and replace my answers to the following questions in as much detail as you feel comfortable with.
1. Male or female or I'm not telling-- Female
2. Age range--33
3. Marital/romantic status (this would also be the place for orientation if you're so inclined to state one, but don't feel obliged to do s)--Polyamorous lesbian. I currently have three wonderful part-time sweeties (one of whom is male), but no cohabiting/partnership/marriage type situations; nor will I be wanting any in the foreseeable future. There are a couple of folks who I'm unrequitedly attracted to; they are probably aware of this and I trust that they will act if they feel so inclined. Beyond that, I'm good for now. I am still grieving and recovering the dissolution of my cohabiting triad this time last year in a fairly serious way.
4. Children--oh hell no. Childfree and happy, thanks.
5. Pets--lots! 5 dogs, 4 cats, 3 parrots, 3 horses, several chickens and ducks, a ball python, a rabbit and a tank of tropical fish.
6. What do you do for a living (yes, including you stay-at-home parents, and students--I know those are both still work!)--self-employed attorney, among several other things.
7. Where did you grow up--Northern CA.
8. Where do you live now?--Sonoma county, Northern CA
9. Hobbies?--hiking, backpacking, training dogs and keeping/spending time with all those animals, art, fiddle music, the graphic novel I'm drawing/writing, gardening, writing, cycling, reading, swing and ballroom dancing, scavenging roadkill, etc. I love science and reading about it.
10. Political/social issues or affiliation? (I mean more than Dem/Rep, though you can include those. I mean what are you passionate about--like LGBT rights, feminism, whatever.)--very liberal. Animal/environmental causes, socialized health care, living in a country that does not torture people, sex-positivity, women's health/rights/equality and of course GLBT issues are particularly important to me. I do support gun ownership and hunting, but I think I am sane about it.
11. Religion if you choose to state one.--Atheistic Pagan
12. One thing about yourself others should know.---I'm very solitary and introverted, and it takes me a while to warm to and then get to know people. That doesn't necessarily mean that I don't want to do so.

Date: 2009-07-28 11:43 pm (UTC)1. Male or female or I'm not telling-- That last one. Gender may not be irrelevant in my society, but I see no reason not to treat it as though it is.
2. Age range-- 28, with gusts up to 30, 35?
3. Marital/romantic status (this would also be the place for orientation if you're so inclined to state one, but don't feel obliged to do so--) Oh de lally. Relationship-wise, I tend to go with "not single, but not taken" as a glib short answer; the long answer would handily exceed the LJ-comment character limit. As far as orientation goes, I'm attracted to various people for various reasons. I'll plant a flag on the Kinsey scale once I've got enough of a data sampling to reveal the pattern. As it is, I'm pretty new at this whole "non-solitary" thing.
4. Children-- If I decide I need some, I have a pair of nieces I can borrow. Then -- and this is the important part -- my sister can have them back.
5. Pets-- My house has an appropriate human:nonhuman ratio of about five or six to one, including birds, cats, and dog. Technically three of the parrots and the dog are "mine", but the cats believe my lap is as good as any.
6. What do you do for a living (yes, including you stay-at-home parents, and students--I know those are both still work!)-- All hail the Corporate Overlord.
7. Where did you grow up-- I spent my young childhood climbing (and subsequently falling out of) trees and swimming in the Spokane River in eastern Washington, but my family moved to rural MT while I was in junior high school.
8. Where do you live now?-- Sonoma county, Northern CA
9. Hobbies?-- Watching movies, writing reviews of the really bad/good ones, sex, collecting stuffed toys, cooking, walking around town, walking in the countryside, drawing and painting, birdwatching, bugwatching, plantwatching. Reading, by itself or in combination with (nearly) any of the previously-listed activities.
10. Political/social issues or affiliation? (I mean more than Dem/Rep, though you can include those. I mean what are you passionate about--like LGBT rights, feminism, whatever.)-- Probably more libertarian (small L; not affiliated with the crazy people) than anything else, though I waver back and forth on some things. Generally, I'm in favor of freedom as long as it comes with personal responsibility, critical thinking skills, and social awareness. Abortions should be safe and legal, atheism isn't a religious position and evolution isn't a theory, no one has the right to go through life unoffended, rape is the rapist's fault and not the victim's, people who let twenty dogs starve to death in their backyard shouldn't be allowed to keep any animals EVER AGAIN, and either marriage should be a purely religious rite that confers no legal privileges at all, or same-sex couples should be allowed to do it, too.
11. Religion if you choose to state one.-- None for me, thanks.
12. One thing about yourself others should know.--- I'm a scavenger, not a predator.

12. And if you give me a chance ill work her small ass into the ground.
