Yesterday was well spent in fine company as [livejournal.com profile] kynekh_amagire and Luck, her very sweet border collie, came to visit. There was much collie frolicking at the beach; her collie and my collies pack well together. (No Jez on this trip, as she is a bit too much intensity for Luck, but I'll make it up to her).

Yay for collie friendship.

And this one is from the weekend before last, of [livejournal.com profile] nicole_monkey, myself and the pack in the Willow Creek woods.

Awww! Another splittie!

Does the salt water bother your dogs? Or do you rinse them when you get home?

Yes, Luck has that cute Border collie split face, aww!

I've never had an issue with any of the dogs and salt water, although I do tend to bathe them not long after beach days, if only because I want them all clean and coconut-smelling. They tend to hang out in the house and that makes me happier. ;)

Great shots! Beaches always look good in fog. And collies always look good period ;)

Me too--rain and fog are my favourite weather effects to walk through or see (but not to drive in, obviously).

Oooh, is that the dog friendly beach by Goat Rock?
I "share" my dog with my ex, she's sometimes with me, sometimes not - however she'd love going to the beach. If you ever feel like trying out another pack mate on your trip, let me know. :) She's a bit submissive, but should get on ok with other dogs if she's not surrounded straight away.

Yes, Blind Beach...great place.
My collies are quite mellow with other dogs; Jez is the one who does not get to meet unless it is another wolf, husky or otherwise large, confident dog.

Destiny has some husky in her; she's not a small dog, just very submissive and intimidated by groups of dogs. Collies may be good for her, get her some new 'friends' working up to the larger dog.
We've taken Greg's dogs to blind beach before, but never mine, mainly because she was not here during those times. His old gal is starting to get aggressive with other dogs, and the male in un-neutered and has been in fights with other males, so we keep them leashed.
Dog politics, eh.

Wow, is it just me or as Chaos growing like a weed? He looks friggin' huge in these pictures!

You've got quite the pack, and it's always fun to watch dogs be friends and play with one another. :>

Chaos is getting enormous! He is about an inch taller than Jez at the withers and, at 6 1/2 months, has not stopped growing.

Gorgeous photos -- I can really see each dog's personality and attitude in each one, including some dynamics of interaction that I missed while looking at the dogs themselves, interestingly enough. Is it wrong that I'm a bit entertained by the prospect of watching Tragic Love Story of Coba and Luck unfold?

Thank you -- again -- for a wonderful time. We should do it again. Soon. :>

We definitely should.

Dog behavior can be so interestingly subtle. I find pack dynamics endlessly fascinating, and I'm happy that ours get along well. Sort of. I find Coba's hopeless crush endlessly entertaining, though I feel just a little bad about it...oh dogchild mine, we all have to get our hearts broken sooner or later, I suppose. How do you explain 'neutered male' to a little shelt who is trying very, very hard to be courtly?
