Fall and Winter

Have a photo post. A particularly cold storm came though here this weekend, and when hiking up on the ridge, I was startled to find a light dusting of snow on the ground. It almost never happens here, and is such a beautiful and delicate rarity.

This post will make your dialup cry, but it's really pretty. Plus adorable kitties and puppies.
Depending on where they are in the yard, my various potted Japanese maples color at different times. My favorite red one went more than a month ago, but this one just turned. Oh, yellow.

Snow sheltie

Wyoming-whelped Coba says, "well? Where's the rest of it?"

The fungus are in bloom. Actually, that's not the most accurate term, but 'basidiocarp emergence' doesn't have the same ring. I love the slimy yellow ones best.

After the walk, if I'm really lucky, the result will be this. Aww, look at him asleep with his wee vampire dolly. (Coba's, actually)

Tiger approves of sheltie bolsters.

Wherefore Coba? With our first show now planned for April, I need to get serious about his grooming. Here is my very first official attempt. The unclipped, natural look of the sheltie takes about 2 hours to achieve. Compare this with Coba shots above.
